Information we handle

Information you provide

When you set up a home, you may provide information such as your ZIP code, home type and age range, heating and cooling systems, home features, appliances, and workload preference.

Gnome Run uses those answers to create a home profile and determine which maintenance tasks apply to your home.

If you save a plan, we also store information associated with that home, including your maintenance plan, task schedules and status, schedule changes, snoozed or dismissed tasks, and completion history.

Gnome Run does not currently ask you to provide a street address, financial information, government identification numbers, or access to your email, contacts, calendar, or files.

Account and sign-in information

When you create or use an account, Supabase Auth handles authentication. We receive and store information needed to identify your account, such as your email address and, when available, your name.

If you use Google Sign-In, Google and Supabase provide the basic identity information needed for authentication. This may include an account identifier, email address, name, and profile image.

Gnome Run does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, or other Google services.

Browser storage and cookies

Before you save a plan, Gnome Run keeps your onboarding answers and temporary task activity in your browser's session storage.

A temporary browser-storage handoff may also be used to connect your plan to your account during sign-in. This handoff is designed to expire after one hour.

Supabase uses cookies or similar browser storage to maintain your authenticated session.

Gnome Run does not currently use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics services. The app may record limited temporary activity, such as onboarding and sign-in steps, in session storage on your device. This information is not currently sent to an external analytics provider.

Location and technical information

When you enter a ZIP code, Gnome Run sends that ZIP code from its server to Zippopotam.us to determine city, state, and representative location coordinates. We do not intentionally send your account identity with that request.

Our hosting, authentication, database, and other infrastructure providers may automatically process ordinary technical information associated with operating an internet service. This may include IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and error, security, or access logs.

How we use information

We use information to:

• create and manage your account and authenticated session;
• build and update a maintenance plan that matches your home;
• determine which maintenance tasks apply to your home;
• save task schedules, status changes, and completion history;
• resolve your ZIP code and apply relevant location or climate information;
• send sign-in and other transactional account emails;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the service; and
• understand and improve how the service works.

We do not use your personal information for third-party behavioral advertising.

Service providers and disclosures

Gnome Run relies on a limited number of service providers to operate the service:

• Supabase provides authentication and the PostgreSQL database used to store account and application data.
• Vercel hosts and delivers the application.
• Resend delivers authentication and transactional email.
• Google provides basic identity information if you choose Google Sign-In.
• Zippopotam.us provides city and location information based on ZIP code.

These providers process information on Gnome Run's behalf or as necessary to provide their respective services.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal requests, protect Gnome Run or its users, investigate fraud or security concerns, or enforce applicable agreements.

If Gnome Run is involved in a reorganization, financing, acquisition, sale, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

Gnome Run does not sell personal information or share personal information with third parties for behavioral advertising.

Retention, access, and deletion

We keep saved account and home information for as long as the related account or home remains active in the service.

When home information is deleted, we remove the associated application data from active systems, subject to limited retention where information remains in backups or is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or resolving disputes.

Browser-only onboarding information remains according to your browser's storage behavior. Temporary session-storage information may disappear when the browser session ends or when it is otherwise cleared.

Service providers may retain logs, backups, authentication records, or other information according to their own retention practices and legal obligations.

The current Start over action removes the saved home, maintenance plan, task state, and completion history associated with that home. It does not currently delete your Supabase authentication account or basic account profile.

Gnome Run does not currently provide self-service account deletion. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information, email privacy@gnomerun.app.

We may need to verify that the request belongs to you. Some limited information may remain where retention is required or reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, backups, or resolving disputes.

Security

Gnome Run uses authenticated sessions and database access controls intended to keep each user's saved home data separate.

We also rely on security safeguards provided by our hosting, database, authentication, and email service providers.

No internet service or method of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Gnome Run is intended for adults managing a home and is not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Gnome Run, contact us at privacy@gnomerun.app so we can review and address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Gnome Run changes or as our data practices evolve.

When we update the policy, we will post the revised version here. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
